Things brides ask me.
Which flowers press well?
Daisies, cosmos, zinnias, ranunculus, anemones, larkspur, baby's breath, ferns and eucalyptus press beautifully. Peonies and garden roses press well when I take them apart petal by petal, which I do. Very thick or waxy flowers like succulents, orchids, some lilies and proteas don't press. I'll use what I can and tell you up front.
Will my flowers actually turn out?
Most do, beautifully. Tell me what's in your bouquet and I'll be honest before you pay a thing. And you approve the layout before anything is glued.
Will the colors stay the same?
No, and I won't pretend otherwise. Whites go cream, reds go deep burgundy, pinks hold nicely, yellows and oranges stay bright. I use no dyes or color enhancement. Kept out of direct sun, a frame holds its color for many years.
What if a bloom doesn't make it?
It happens, especially with roses that arrive bruised. I design around it and show you the layout before anything is glued. I never swap in flowers that weren't in your bouquet.
What if my bouquet is wilted by the time I get it to you?
A little droop is fine. Get it to me within 3 days, keep it cool and out of the sun, and I'll take it from there.
How long does it take?
About 4 to 5 months from the day I receive your bouquet. 8 to 10 weeks of that is pressing. You'll get photos along the way. See the full timeline.
How do I ship my bouquet?
Overnight, Monday through Wednesday, in a snug box with the stems wrapped in a damp paper towel. I'll email exact steps the week of your wedding. Shipping to me is on you; a prepaid label is available at cost.
Can I drop it off?
Yes, in Afton, by appointment, within about 3 days of the wedding.
Is the deposit refundable?
The $147 deposit holds your date and comes off your total. It isn't refundable once your date is confirmed, but if your plans change you can move your date once, no charge. If your date turns out to be full, it comes straight back.
Why not a cheaper one online?
You could! Here's the difference: if you drop off, your bouquet never leaves Minnesota. You approve the design before it's glued. It goes behind real glass in solid wood. And the person answering your email is the person pressing your flowers.
Do you do memorial or other bouquets?
Yes. Funeral flowers, anniversary bouquets, a first Mother's Day bouquet. Same process, same care. Just tell me on the reserve form.
How do I care for the frame?
Hang it out of direct sunlight and away from bathrooms and kitchens. Dust the glass with a dry cloth. That's it. Read the care guide.
